    We developed the Feed Smart automatic pasture feeder to address issues livestock owners face on a daily basis. Problems with help, schedules, and dominant animals, create unsafe and unhealthy situations in pastures. Vets and nutritionists agree that grain concentrates are best fed several times a day, on an exacting schedule, to reduce or eliminate health risks such as colic and founder (in horses). Smaller amounts of feed are far less toxic to delicate digestive systems, and result in more complete utilization in the animal's system. Estimates say animals can maintain the same body condition on 10 - 20% less feed than when fed only one or two large meals a day. In today's economy, it makes good sense to keep your stock healthier while reducing your feed expense.

 

Feeding several times a day will result in more satisfied animals, often reducing aggressive behavior. Eliminating the human factor helps, too. The feeder becomes part of the pasture, therby creating a calmer atmosphere at feed times.
